Metals
TB Hagstoz and Son carries a full line of metals for everyone from the crafts person to the professional jeweler. Whether you need wire or sheet metal Hagstoz has everything you could possibly need. If we don't have it, we can get it for you.
The weight of metals are measured in different units depending on the type of metal. Base metals such as Brass, Bronze, Nickel and Copper are weighed in pounds while Gold Filled, Sterling Silver and Fine Silver are most typically weighed in troy ounces. Alloyed Gold such as 14 karat and 18 karat are usually weighed in penny weight (dwt). You will find information on the individual metal sections on the weight unit of measure.
The thickness of metals are typically measured in either BS Gauges or thousands of an inch. You can view a conversion chart that lists the most commonly used BS Gauges and the corresponding thousandths of an inch and inches. Please keep in mind that while Hagstoz strives for perfection, it is almost impossible to have metals measure to the exact thousandth of an inch. Please use this as a guide when ordering your different metals from Hagstoz.
This Chart will guide you to the prices of each type of metal.
